Award Winning Architecture at Kesho Leo

by Rob Watson

I’m absolutely delighted to announce that at the 2010 Australian Institute of Architects national awards in Canberra, we received a National Award for International Architecture for the Kesho Leo Children’s home in the village of Sinon, Tanzania.

Volunteering my services for the fantastic young Australian charity, foodwatershelter (which I’m on the board for and currently Vice President), has been an eye opening and at times very emotional experience, however we have managed to not only design and build something that is changing the lives of disadvantaged people in Tanzania but at the same time is leading by example. To be recognised for it as well by my peers is icing on the cake.

If anyone is interested to find out more about the Awards and/or fws please don’t hesitate to contact me.

You can also check out more of the stunning sustainable design of the Kesho Leo Children's Village on the 'eco-friendly plans' page of our website.

Time to celebrate, cheers!
